INTRODUCTION:

entijuanarte is a cultural and artistic launch pad that encourages the exposure, promotion and sale of contemporary art made by national and international artists, individuals and collective . Its official announcement includes various disciplines such as painting, sculpture, photography, drawing, engraving, digital media, installation art and performance. This year, in its fifth edition, entijuanarte 09 renews its compromise and expands the role that its presence has been making up in the last years with past editions in the national and regional / cultural scene.

Besides the promotion and sale of contemporary works of art, entijuanarte 09
tries to achieve the encounter among creators and public (both, specialized and general); to enrich the multigenerational cultural formation process, making possible the empiric acknowledgement and the critic reflection through the direct contact between audiences, creators and their art pieces; to promote the art collection culture among new and old generations.

With the intention of professionalizing its guidelines, this year, entijuanarte 09 points its official announcement towards national and foreign artists interested in its three categories (beginner, emerging, and experimented artists) that will be chosen by a selection committee constituted by specialists in the field. It is worth pointing out that for first time entijuanarte opens the beginner’s category, with the purpose of giving a boost to new and potential talents from Baja California and other parts of Mexico and beyond its borders.

entijuanarte 09 – being an initiative from Tijuana, BC; that, in prior years has paid tribute to others states of  Mexico presenting them as guests of honor –will focus its efforts in this fifth edition, to promote artists from Baja California.  In its 2009 schedule will include a temporary pavilion to house a well known local artists´ curatorship.

entijuanarte 09, fifth edition, will have  five project and interaction sections  in order to reach the artists’ exposure goals – selected and commissioners- lectures forum, workshop area, shows and concerts; an activities schedule in alternative venues that will enrich its overall program.
